Hilton, Hyatt & Catherine’s Restaurant Join Forces with Grace Period for Hurricane Melissa Relief Drive
Grace Period is honored to announce that the Hilton Garden Inn U.S. Capitol – NOMA (Washington, DC) and Hyatt Centric Old Town Alexandria (Virginia) have officially joined our Hurricane Melissa Relief Drive in partnership with Catherine’s Italian Caribbean Restaurant in Laurel, Maryland. Together, these partners now provide three convenient locations covering the entire DMV area, making it easier than ever for the community to support families in Jamaica affected by Hurricane Melissa.
Grace Period has a long history of giving back through mission and relief work, including multiple trips to Jamaica to support communities in need. Hurricane Melissa has left families without access to basic necessities such as food, clean water, clothing, and hygiene products. Through this relief drive, we are committed to getting essential supplies directly into the hands of the people who need them most.

At each location, you’ll find clearly marked Grace Period donation boxes, making it easy to drop off donations safely at any time.
Items Needed Most
Every contribution makes a real difference. We are collecting essential items urgently needed in Jamaica, including:

- Rice, sugar, flour, pasta, beans, canned vegetables, canned meats
- Baby formula and baby food
Clothing & Essentials:
- Clothing for all ages (t-shirts, pants, underwear, shoes)
- Blankets, towels, reusable water bottles
Hygiene & Health:
- Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant
- Feminine hygiene products
- First-aid items: bandages, antiseptic, pain relief, cold medicine
Educational & Miscellaneous:
- School supplies: notebooks, pens, pencils, backpacks
- Cleaning supplies and disinfectants
