Grace Period is proud to partner with Catherine’s Italian Caribbean Restaurant in Laurel, Maryland, for a powerful cause—our Hurricane Melissa Relief Drive for Jamaica, running from Saturday, November 8th through Wednesday, November 19th.

Join us as we kick off the drive this Saturday, November 8th, with an evening of live music from international reggae star Etana, delicious Italian Caribbean cuisine, and specialty cocktails—all to support families in Jamaica affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Throughout the drive, we are accepting both monetary and tangible donations. Bring essential items like clothing, diapers, rice, sugar, flour, canned goods, hygiene products, and other everyday necessities. A donation box will be available at Catherine’s, and a portion of proceeds from food and drink sales will go directly toward hurricane relief efforts.

The drive will close with a special celebration on Wednesday, November 19th, featuring the King of Caribbean Comedy, Majah Hype—a perfect way to wrap up nearly two weeks of community, compassion, and giving back.

Grace Period has traveled to Jamaica many times on mission trips, serving and uplifting communities in need. We are deeply honored to give back to a country we love, helping to restore hope and faith in humanity—one meal, one laugh, and one donation at a time.

Come hungry. Come generous. Come make a difference.
Together, we can help Hurricane Melissa survivors rebuild their lives.
